This is a gorgeous set made of a lidded chocolate pot, 5 cups,
5 saucers,
a lidded sugar bowl and a creamer.
Each piece bears on the bottom a gold maple leaf over the white
ware maker's mark. It is the
mark #7 of Pickard Studio
Handpainted
China, Chicago, ca.1912-1918.
Every piece is
hand painted and decorated in the Blue Trumpet
pattern, with heavy gold applied on the handles,
spout, finial
and borders.
The name
"Noritake"
is added in hand writing to the maple leaf
mark of the cups, probably indicating the original
blank's
maker.
The pot has the same shape of the cups.
The sugar bowl bears the mark
H.&C. SELB BAVARIA
on the lid,
indicating
the blank's provenience of this bowl and of the creamer,
both with
the same shape.
The pot is
8 1/2" high
with lid and
7" wide
from spout to handle.
The cups are
2 3/4"
high.
The saucers have a diameter of
5"
.
The sugar bowl is
3 1/2
" high with lid and
5"
wide with handles.
The creamer is
2 1/2
" high and
4 3/4"
wide.
This set is in
wonderful condition, looking unused, with no
chips, cracks or repairs. The porcelain is very fine.
