Pickard Artist "Stahl" Signed Compote "Red and Maroon Raspberries"

Description

This is one of the nicest Chicago studio pieces I have seen in a while.  The compote is 6" in diameter and 5 1/4" high.  Condition is exceptional with no chips, cracks or wear.  Beautifully decorated in maroon and red raspberries with gold accented green leaves and gold whiplash streamers.  The ground fades from cream to pink and then to lavender.  The rim and base are scrolled and heavily gilded.  An example of this piece in a slightly different form by the same artist is shown in the Collector's Encyclopedia of Pickard China on page 253, plate 718.  Reverse has Austrian under glaze mark and Brauer Studio decorator mark 3 (1905 - 1910).  Good luck and please see my other listings of similar items.
