Description
Beautiful hand painted Pickard lidded dresser or powder box, decorated by artist Howard Reury with clusters of violets against a green and tan ground.  The edges of the lid and the top edge of the base are trimmed with gold.  The artist’s signature - H. Reury - is found near the lid edge.
The base is marked with the light tan 9/16” Pickard mark (mark #4), indicating it was produced circa 1903-1905 at the carriage barn studio.  Information on the artist, mark and dates is from Allan B. Reed’s comprehensive work, “Collectors Encyclopedia of Pickard China”, published by Collector Books 1995.
Measurements-the box is round, with molded feet and a domed lid with scalloped lid.  Overall dimensions are 4 5/8” across and 3” high.
Excellent vintage condition, no chips or cracks, no repairs or touch-up.  The only mentionable is wear to the gold on the outer edge of the lid.  See photos.
